Ohio Raises Minimum Wage in 2013

ohio payroll

Ohio’s minimum wage will increase on Jan. 1, 2013, to $7.85 per hour for employers grossing more than $288,000 per year.

For companies grossing less than $288,000, the minimum wage is same as the federal minimum wage of $7.25. This wage of $7.25 also applies to minimum wage workers in Ohio under age 16.

The minimum wage for tipped employees will also increase to $3.93 per hour.

The increase is due to changes in the federal Consumer Price Index (CPI). Ohio is one of 10 states that tie its minimum wage increases to the CPI to offset inflation.
