MCTMT Definition: Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax

Employers with calendar quarter payrolls over a certain amount and conducting business within the metropolitan commuter transportation district (MCTD) are required to pay the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax (MCTMT).

MCTMT Extended Definition
MCTMT is imposed on employers and self-employed individuals in the MCTD. The MCTD includes the following counties:

• New York (Manhattan)
• Bronx
• Kings (Brooklyn)
• Queens
• Richmond (Staten Island)
• Rockland
• Nassau
• Suffolk
• Orange
• Putnam
• Dutchess
• Westchester
