Online payroll is payroll that is available strictly on the internet. Payroll is processed by using a secure Internet connection for accessing a login to a user software application. The data is stored either in the cloud or on servers provided by the payroll software provider. Users can perform all necessary payroll functions such as running payroll, printing paychecks, and running necessary payroll reports for W2s, 940s,941s and 944s. There is a small monthly fee with using an online payroll software, usually comparable to or less than traditional downloadable payroll software.
