Holiday Work Pay Extended Definition
Businesses that are open on holidays often find ways to encourage employees to work on the holidays. Holiday pay is not required by federal law. But, employers may offer holiday pay to incentivize employees to work on holidays.

Holiday pay may be time-and-a-half (1.5x) an employee’s regular wages or double-time pay.
