Creating a journal entry in Patriot Software

Who wants to block off an afternoon to record accounting transactions? No takers? We didn’t think so. At Patriot, one of our goals is to make sure you are spending less time doing necessary (but mundane) accounting tasks.

Our Journal Entry screen now has three new improvements that we know you’ll love. First, we’ve improved account selection on the journal entry screen with typeahead searching (also known as “autocomplete”) to easily filter and find the account you need. 

Next, we’ve also added optional line item descriptions for each entry to help you keep account details about the transaction if you need to. These descriptions will be easily viewed on your General Ledger Report.

Finally, Patriot has added the ability to add a new account “on the go” to your chart of accounts right on the Journal Entry page. No need to navigate away from your journal entries to add necessary accounts.
