Background

If you are a Washington state employer, you will need to enter the Washington Employment Administration Fund Rate with your tax rate for the Washington Employment Administration Fund (EAF) in order to run your payroll.  This rate is separate from your state Unemployment Insurance tax rate.  This tax rate can be found on your State of Washington Tax Rate Notice. For more details about how your tax rates are determined, see the state of Washington Employment Security Department website.

To administer your rate in Patriot Software
  • Payroll > Settings > Payroll Settings > State Unemployment Rates
  • Beside the Employment Administration Fund Rate (EAF), click the “Edit” link.
  • Select an effective date from the dropdown list.
  • Enter the Tax Rate percent.
