Arkansas Employee Tax Withholding Help

Background

When you pay employees in Arkansas, you will need to set up their tax allowances that they completed on their Arkansas tax withholding form.  For more information and instructions, see the official State of Arkansas Employee’s Withholding Exemption Certificate.

How to Set up Arkansas Employee Taxes in Patriot Software

When you enter tax allowances for employees in Arkansas, there are state filing options that need to be entered for each employee.  For new customers adding employees in the wizard, these are found under the Tax Information page for the employee.  For employees added after you complete the wizard, you will be prompted to enter their tax information under:

Payroll > Employees > Employee List > Click the Employee Name > Taxes > Edit
These fields are under the “State and Local Withholding” section.

Texarkana Resident: If the employee resides in the city of Texarkana, Arkansas, choose Yes.  Texarkana, Arkansas residents do not have income tax withheld.  For more information about the taxation of Texarkana residents, see the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration Texarkana Exemption Letter.

Total Allowances: Enter the total exemptions as listed on Line 3 of the form.
