As an Advisor, you can become certified in our accounting software and payroll software. When you pass the exam, you will earn the designation of "Certified Advisor." This designation includes the following benefits:
- A special Badge (i.e., image) for you to use on your website, business cards, email signature, social media accounts, etc.
- Prestige in an elite group of professionals
- Discounted pricing on our Basic Payroll, Full Service Payroll, and accounting software.
The exam is administered online and can be taken anywhere you have internet access. You will need to register with your name, email address, and business name to take the exam.
The exam covers technical knowledge of our accounting and payroll software (85%) and basic accounting and payroll knowledge (15%).
There are a total of 50 questions on the exam, consisting of multiple choice and true/false. A score of 80% is required to pass the exam, meaning you must answer 40 of the 50 questions correctly.
There is no time limit to take the exams, but you should not have to spend longer than 1 minute on each question, so plan to spend about 50 minutes for the exam.
Currently there are no recertification requirements once you pass the exam.
There are no formal classes or webinars required to take the exam, just a general familiarity with our software. The best way to prepare is to be a user of the software. If you are not a customer of Patriot, you should be able to learn our software by using the sample data provided in a Demo Account.
We encourage you to visit our help centers for both products, which contain training articles about all of the features.
The exam fee is $50.00. Pay by credit card when you take the exam.
If you do not pass the first time, you may retake the exam two more times at no extra charge within 90 days.
