Connecticut is one of 14 states that have announced an increase in their minimum wage rate, effective on January 1, 2014. The new minimum wage in Connecticut is $8.70 per hour.
Connecticut’s minimum wage exceeds the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. Its minimum wage will automatically increase if the Federal minimum wage becomes higher than the Connecticut minimum wage. In fact, Connecticut’s minimum wage will be set to 0.5 percent higher than the Fair Labor Standards Act’s rate.
