Canton, Ohio — Patriot Software, LLC, announces a new community on Google+, called USA Entrepreneur. Created by Patriot for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the USA, it offers a forum for experienced and fledgling business owners to share questions, concerns, and stories.
Mike Kappel, President of Patriot Software Company, says, “Small business owners, myself included, have unique stories that can be hilarious and/or tragic. USA Entrepreneur filters out some of the unwanted self-promotion often found with discussions on the internet, and creates a community where entrepreneurs can share their valuable experiences and solve problems.”

In 2011, there were 22.5 million U.S. businesses without employees. “That’s a lot of entrepreneurs out there, working alone to manage every aspect of their business,” comments Patriot’s Michele Bossart, community moderator. “So in addition to problem-solving, USA Entrepreneur community members are less isolated and can share new information that targets the needs of small businesses.”
Bossart points out, “For example, the statistic above came from a Forbes blog that we posted on USA Entrepreneur. The blog article listed 16 interesting statistics about small business. One statement prompted a community member to comment on the benefits of working on her own from home (52% of all small businesses are home-based). She added, ‘…[I’m] glad to hear I’m in good company….’”
Google+ and Small Business
Google+ has climbed to second place in popularity for social media platforms. This means that potential customers may be more likely to find a small business if the business is using Google+.
“If the predictions are true,” explains Bossart, “then USA Entrepreneur is in the right place at the right time to support small business owners.”

The topics tackled on USA Entrepreneur are as varied as the community members. Discussions have included content marketing, mobile strategies, and whether entrepreneurship can be taught.
