Vermont employers will pay a higher wage to minimum wage workers when the minimum wage increases from $8.46 to $8.60 per hour. Full-time minimum wage workers in Vermont will now earn approximately $17,888.00 annually.
Tipped employees in Vermont will also see their rate increase from $4.10 to $4.17 per hour. If the employee does not make enough tips in any given week to earn minimum wage, the employer must make up the difference.
Vermont is one of 10 states that tie cost of living increases to a rise in the minimum wage.
