The Florida minimum wage will be increasing to $7.79 on Jan. 1, 2013, up from the current rate of $7.67. This represents a 1.6% increase for Florida minimum wage earners.
Tip earners are also receiving a raise in Florida. The new rate will be $4.77 per hour, a change from the current $4.65.
Florida is one of 10 states that automatically tie the state minimum wage to increases in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Full-time minimum wage earners in Florida will now make $16,203.20 in gross wages annually.
