Colorado Raises Minimum Wage for 2013

colorado payrollHourly minimum wage workers in Colorado will receive a raise on Jan. 1, 2013. The new Colorado minimum wage is now $7.78 per hour, a 14-cent increase from the previous rate of $7.64. The federal minimum wage remains at $7.25.

The minimum wage for tipped employees in Colorado will also increase to $4.76, up from $4.62 per hour. Tipped employees are defined as those who “customarily and regularly receives more than $30 in tips.”

Colorado is one of 10 states that adjust their state minimum wage to reflect changes in the consumer price index (CPI).
