An individual who works outside of a traditional office or commercial setting, most often in a home office, for part of the time or full-time.

Home-based Worker Extended Definition:
A home-based worker is someone who does not work all of their scheduled hours at a business location but works some of their hours (or all of them) at their residence.

Home-based workers may be employees or independent contractors. These positions may be called teleworking, remote, freelance, or telecommuting.
