What Is the Minimum Wage in Your State for 2014?

minimum wage 2014As of December 29, 2013, fourteen states have announced an increase to their minimum wage, effective January 1, 2014 (with one exception).

The 2014 increases mean that 21 states will have state minimum wages above the federal rate. The federal minimum wage rate for 2014 is $7.25, with proposed legislation that could raise it to $10.10 per hour.

Please note that some individual cities have set higher minimum wage rates. Effective January 1, 2014, the cities of Albuquerque, NM ($8.60); Bernalillo County, NM ($8.50); San Francisco, CA ($10.74); San Jose, CA ($10.15); and SeaTac, WA ($15.00) have all increased their minimum wage rates separately from their respective state rates. You can check your local and state websites for additional information.
