- Withholding Requirements -- Employers must register as an employers by filing Form NCUI 604, the Employer Status Report, with the target="_blank">Employment Security Commission of North Carolina.
Employees must complete Form NC-4, the target="_blank">Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate.
If supplemental wages are paid separately or specified when paid with regular wages and tax withheld for regular wages, withhold at 6% or add to the regular wages, compute tax on the total and subtract the tax withheld from regular wages.
- State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) -- The wage base is $19,700 for 2011.
Rates range for 0.00% to 6.84%.
