Nevada business owners can count on Patriot PAY to accurately calculate their payroll, whether they're working in Reno, Las Vegas, or anywhere else in the state. Patriot Software keeps informed about the latest tax laws and regulations in Nevada, including:


  • Employer Registration -- Nevada employers must register by filing Form NUCS-0736.

  • Withholding Requirements -- There is no state withholding in Nevada.

  • State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) -- Employers should use the reserve ratio formula to calculate SUI. Since 2009, the wage base has been $26,600.
    Rates range from 0.30% to 5.40%.
    New employers should use a rate of 2.95%
    The SUI rates do not include a 0.05% Career Enhancement Program, which is charged on taxable wages unless the assigned rate is 5.4%.

  • State Labor Laws -- The minimum wage is $8.25 if no health benefits are provided by the employer. The wage is $7.25 if health benefits are provided by the employer (as of 7/21/2011.)

  • Termination Pay -- Employees should receive their final pay immediately if they are fired. Employees who quit should receive their pay the earlier of the next regular payday or within seven days.

  • New Hire Reporting -- Employers must report new hires to the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Employment Security Division - New Hire Unit, 500 East Third Street, Carson City, NV 89713-0033.
