  • Withholding Requirements -- Idaho employers must register by filing Form IBR-1 Business Registration Form. The Federal W-4 Withholding Allowance Certificate also applies in Idaho.

  • Idaho Labor Laws -- Idaho employers must pay the Federal minimum wage rate of $7.25 (as of 7/20/11).

    Employers must pay employees who quit or are fired the earlier of: the next regular payday, within 10 days, or within 48 hours of receiving a written request from an employee.

  • State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) -- Idaho employers must report quarterly wages and contributions by filing Form TAX026 (Unemployment Insurance Wage Report) and Form TAX020 (Employer Quarterly Unemployment Insurance Tax Report) by the last day of the month following the end of the quarter: you can file this report online.

    The wage base for reporting unemployment is $33,000 in the state of Idaho.

    SUI contribution rates range from 0.96% to 6.80%. Employers should consult Schedule II, the Reverse Ratio formula, to figure their rate.

    New Idaho employers are assigned a rate of 1.302%.

    The Work Force Development Tax is 3.0% of the taxable contribution rate.

  • New Hire Reporting -- Employers must report hiring, rehiring, and employees returning to work within 20 days on Form W-4 (Employees Withholding Allowance Certificate) to:
