Q: If I'm interested in trying out Patriot PAY™, where do I begin?
A: You sign up online through our Company Startup form, where you will enter some basic information about your company. This will set up your client account, and you'll then have a user ID and password to access the Patriot PAY payroll system. Once your client account has been set up, you can complete the rest of the required information to run your first payroll.

Q: How long do I need to wait until I can run my first payroll?
A: This will depend on the amount of information you will need to enter. Prior to running a payroll, you will need to enter information about your company, your payroll tax accounts, and your employees' demographic information. And, if you are starting after the first of the year, you will need to provide year-to-date payroll history for your employees too. While Patriot PAY will be able to calculate payroll almost immediately, if you are using TaxBeGone to file your payroll taxes, you won't be able to accept/commit payroll until you have verified your bank account information.

Q: Can my company's payroll history be brought in to Patriot PAY?
A: Yes. If you are starting after the first of the year, it is important that your year-to-date payroll history for all employees be entered into Patriot PAY. This allows accurate tax limits to be applied to your future payrolls, and for W-2 accuracy at the end of the year.

Q: Can I start using your services mid-year? Mid-quarter? Mid-month?
A: You may begin using Patriot PAY at any time during the year. However, TaxBeGone does carry some time-based restrictions. Patriot Software will only handle payroll tax filings since your start date. If you begin in the middle of a tax reporting period, Patriot Software will handle that period's filings as well as all subsequent filings.
